Japan VC Consortium: Call for 4th Term Member Applications (September 15 – October 31)

Shonan Health Innovation Park (“Shonan iPark”) is excited to open applications for the fourth term of the Japan VC Consortium. This initiative, launched in July 2020, provides a collaborative platform for venture capitalists (“VCs”), corporate venture capitalists (“CVCs”), and research and business development departments of pharmaceutical companies (“Pharmaceutical Companies”). The consortium aims to energize investment in Japan’s life science industry. The application period runs from today, September 15th (Friday), until October 31st (Tuesday).

Details of the 4th Japan VC Consortium:

■ Name: Japan VC Consortium

■ Objectives: Enhance the investment and licensing capabilities of member companies through practical, information-driven discussions.

■ Co-Chairs:
• Yoshihide Ishii, Alloy Therapeutics, Inc., Head of Cell Therapies and 82VS
• Koki Nakagawa, Head, Commercial and Business Development / Communications, iPark Institute Co., Ltd.

■ Themes
Current Focus: RNA Drug Discovery, Target Discovery, Watch Series, Investment Power
(Past Themes for Reference)
• 1st Term: “Digital Medicine,” “Oligonucleic Acid Delivery Technology,” and related subjects.
• 2nd Term: “Bio-Informatics Utilization at the Forefront” and “Biotech Innovations in New Chemical Space.”
• 3rd Term: “Biotech Leading in Platform Technology Innovations.”

■ Activities
Regular Monthly Engagements:
• Participating in and discussing pioneering biotech lectures.
• Meetings with various individual companies.
• Interactions between the Management Office and the participating companies.

■ Target Audience: VCs, CVCs, pharmaceutical companies, etc.

■ Application period: September 15 – October 31, 2023

■ Start date: October 18, 2023 (Trial participation available)

■ Activity Period: 1 year from the start date

■ Format: Online, with bi-annual on-site events

■ Annual Membership Fee: 330,000 JPY (tax included)
